My name is Michelle and I am a freelance illustrator based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.

 

I work across analogue and digital mediums but particularly enjoy working with pencil, specialising in small-scale, detailed, character-led illustrations which often incorporate whimsical anthropomorphism and playful visual metaphor. This style is evident in the greeting cards I supply through my business, Coffee Bean Cards - the foundation of my practice.

In addition to designing cards and gifts, I love writing and illustrating poetry. I am passionate about creating children's books and resources, working on a variety of projects both independently and through meaningful collaborations.

Designing the cover for Dr Joan van den Brink's book, The 3 Companions: Stories of Courage, Compassion and Wisdom, inspired me to pursue my passion and begin an MA in Illustration with Falmouth University, which I completed in April 2025.

Through conscious practice, I aim to create meaningful work that encourages human connection and contributes positively to our emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
